4 WAY SCRAMBLES / TEAM BUILDING SEMINAR

(These events are open to all jumpers regardless of experience level or preferred discipline!)

SATURDAY FEB. 28TH    This is going to be fun!

This opportunity is a great way to gear up for the upcoming season here at Skydive Spaceland where the 2009 Skydiving National Championships will be held!

This is also an opportunity for you seasoned jumpers to give back to the newer jumpers. Your participation ensures the continued growth of our sport and helps to cultivate a healthy group of new skydivers who may decide to form new teams for the season and represent our home dz. Remember... someone had to teach you what you know... way back when!

What is a Scrambles event? It is a meet that is structured for individuals to sign up and be randomly placed on 4-way teams according to experience levels. The intermediate dive pool will be used for the event. Special care will be taken to make sure that the teams are as even as possible. The meet will consist of 4 rounds and will be judged by USPA sanctioned judge, Tom Jenkins.

The jump price is $22 per jump including the camera slot, which is a great deal!

As a jumper, what do you get for joining us at the Spaceland 4-Way Scrambles event?

  • Free professional judging by a USPA sanctioned judge
  • Free 4-way coaching by seasoned jumpers
  • Free team building seminar by Jack Berke of Deguello
  • Awards to the winners
  • An opportunity to "Give Back" to our dropzone and to other new jumpers

This seminar has always been a great help to those interested in competing and will include an opportunity for participants to ask questions and get great advice from a seasoned team leader with years of experience.

The inclement weather day for the Scrambles will be Sunday, March 1st. However, if we complete the Scrambles on Saturday and enough people want to play then... we'll play!

TSR exit SAFETY DAY

MARCH 14TH

Safety Day was an idea proposed by Patti Chernis to USPA’s Board of Directors late in 1996 to get skydivers to set aside one day each year specifically to concentrate on making themselves and their drop zones safer. Safety Day should serve as more than a refresher of the basics. Skydiving is always changing, and new techniques, equipment, disciplines and training methods are always emerging. Regardless of whether you are a new student or a seasoned veteran, there’s always something new on the horizon. In some ways, each of us are students in the sport long after earning our A license. Safety Day should provide us with opportunities to learn something new, remember something we might have forgotten and stay up to speed with the basics.

TSR 07TEXAS STATE RECORD / CASA BOOGIE

This is going to be a boogie atmosphere with records going on as well. We are having a huge party on Sat. night with a Band, Beer and the Anvil's famous BBQ!

Stacy Curry is building a team of volunteers, and we need your help. So if you're interested in being a part of this event, please email staceylcurry@gmail.com.
