Skydive Spaceland Programs
- The Skydiver
Training Program (STP)
At
Skydive Spaceland, we have instructors who have been skydiving
for almost 30 years and some who have over 11,000 skydives. They
have combined their experience and knowledge to create The
Skydiver Training Program (STP). STP addresses new technology
in skydiving along with proven techniques. We help you excel
in this challenging sport by combining fun, safety and
education in a non-competitive, relaxed environment. Our
method is to teach in several steps, breaking up the
information into easily understood sessions that allow you to
retain more of what you learn than if you tried to learn it
all at once. Because the information is broken down, you can
practice a skill and become confident with it before learning
new techniques. We also spend time developing the skills
you'll to safely fly with other skydivers. STP allows each
skydiver in training to progress at his or her own rate while
receiving some of the best individualized training in the
world.
STP
Progression
After your
Tandem training adventure, you start the Solo STP program by attending the solo training class. This three-hour class is offered on Thursday evenings from 6 pm to 9 pm (call 281-369-3337 to reserve your spot in the class or
email our
office). You will learn how to safely use a modern parachute system, and you'll discover safe skydiving techniques that you will use for the rest of your skydiving career.
On each STP-Solo skydive, you and the expert instructor exit together from 14,000 feet. While you perform fun and exciting maneuvers, the instructor will guide your tasks and will also video your jump for FREE. The video provides an excellent training tool and is also great entertainment for your friends and family.
After falling at 120 miles per hour for up to 65 seconds, you deploy the parachute at 6,000 feet. The instructor will assist you, via radio, during the four- to six-minute parachute descent. After you practice safe parachute flying skills and make a soft, on-target landing, your instructor will debrief your skydive and landing. By watching the video, you get a clear, precise review of your skydive.
Once you have mastered the skills of each jump, you move on to other skills, building on your previous education until you and your instructor are confident that you can safely play in the blue
unsupervised
. Upon completion of the Skydiver Training Program, you will have completed the objectives required to get a skydiving license from the
United States Parachute Association
(USPA).
Did you know you can complete the STP
program and get your
skydiving license in a week?
